Jake Clark Australian, b. 1985

Biography

Jake Clark (b. 1985, Melbourne, Australia) is a contemporary artist whose work spans ceramics, painting, and installation. Known for his reinterpretations of urban iconography, branding, and cultural memory, Clark distills elements of everyday life into bold, ceramic forms that blur the boundaries between art, commerce, and nostalgia. Often working across cities like New York, Tokyo, and Athens, he draws inspiration from signage, storefronts, and souvenirs to create works that feel both familiar and freshly abstracted.

He has exhibited internationally, with solo shows at Albertz Benda (New York), Target Gallery (Tokyo), and Piermarq* (Sydney), and participated in notable group exhibitions at galleries including Gavlak (LA/Miami), Stems (Paris), and Woaw (Hong Kong). In 2023, Clark’s public installation at Rockefeller Center in New York marked a major milestone in his exploration of cultural symbols and scale.
